Why Nişantaşı
Nişantaşı (and the adjacent Teşvikiye area, both within the Şişli municipality) has been Istanbul's medical-aesthetic district since the 1970s. The reasons are practical:
- Central location. 25 minutes from Taksim Square, 45-60 minutes from Istanbul Airport (IST), 60-75 minutes from Sabiha Gökçen (SAW). Walking distance from Osmanbey metro (M2 line).
- International-standard hotels nearby. The Maçka and Teşvikiye area has multiple 4-5 star options within 5-10 minutes' walk of the clinic, important for post-op accommodation.
- Density of medical infrastructure. JCI-accredited hospitals (Acıbadem Maslak, Liv Ulus, Memorial Şişli, American Hospital) are all within 20 minutes — important for surgical operations and any specialist consultation needs.
- Quiet surroundings. Despite being central, Teşvikiye Caddesi itself is a tree-lined residential-commercial street, not a tourist thoroughfare. The clinic environment is calm.

Hotel partners
The clinic does not own or operate hotels. Recommended properties for international patients (in walking distance, with comfortable post-op recovery accommodations):
- 4-5 star international chain hotels in Nişantaşı/Maçka — discounted rates for patients on request
- Boutique residence-style accommodations for patients preferring apartment privacy
- Bosphorus-view options if the recovery period overlaps with sightseeing time at the end of stay
Specific hotel recommendations are made based on stay length, budget, and preferences — discussed during consultation planning.
What to do in Nişantaşı
Outside of consultation and recovery, Nişantaşı offers:
- Cafes & restaurants. The neighborhood has a high density of breakfast cafes, traditional Turkish restaurants, and international cuisine — easy walking-distance recovery food.
- City Mall (Cevahir, İstinyePark). Major shopping centers within 10-15 minutes, useful for post-surgery garment fitting or simple comforts.
- Maçka Park. 5 minutes' walk from the clinic — a quiet park ideal for the daily walks recommended in early recovery.
- Bosphorus access. 15 minutes' walk down to Maçka, then onward to Beşiktaş and the Bosphorus shore — light walking territory once recovery permits.
- Historic Istanbul. Sultanahmet (Hagia Sophia, Topkapı, Blue Mosque) is 25-35 minutes by metro — feasible for a brief visit during recovery if mobility allows, typically from week 2 onwards.
What to do in Istanbul as a recovering patient
Realistic activity recommendations during the post-op recovery window:
Days 1-3
Hotel rest with frequent short walks (corridor, lobby). No tourism. No cars or transport other than clinic transfer. Light food.
Days 4-7
Daily 20-30 minute walks in the immediate neighborhood. Cafes for short sit-downs. No museums, no shopping marathons, no public transport.
Days 8-14 (before flight)
Longer walks, 60-90 minutes. Light cafe and restaurant outings. Possible short visit to one cultural site (Hagia Sophia, Dolmabahçe Palace) if mobility comfortable. No bazaar shopping (crowded, jostling).
